Athlete
Welcome to Holton Athletics
Athletics plays an integral role in the lives of Holton students. Our sports activities and physical education classes teach us to enjoy the mental, physical, and ethical balance that stems from teamwork, self-sacrifice, and perseverance. At Holton, we are committed to providing numerous opportunities that enable students to develop and nurture the knowledge and skills necessary to live healthy, active lives.
Holton athletes participate in sports for all kinds of reasons:
- They play because sports are fun and satisfying.
- They play to improve.
- They play to stay fit.
- There are many lessons sports can teach - leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, giving 100%, working toward a shared goal, and winning and losing gracefully.
- They play for Panther Pride.
The School’s philosophy of diversity, continual growth and achievement, and the development of the individual’s greatest potential plays a significant role in our athletic program.
Holton competes in the Independent School League (ISL) with 17 area schools.
For Swimming and Diving, Holton is a member of the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swimming and Diving League (WMPSSDL).

This two-year program aims to develop novice teachers in the independent school environment. Holton’s Learn Well, Live Well, Lead Well (LW3) Teaching Philosophy, along with a framework based in research and best practices, provides these novice educators a foundation to build their skills and knowledge base in order to become effective teachers.
