Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) announced the winners of the 8th District Congressional Art Competition on Wednesday, May 5. Maggie Brett-Major ’22 and Katherine Yoon ’23 both earned second place honors: Maggie for her photograph entitled “October Potomac,” and Katherine for her painting “Composed.”
Nearly 130 students from more than 30 high schools participated in this year's 8th District Competition. Seventeen students were recognized as second-place honorees. Their artwork will be displayed in Raskin's Capitol Hill and Rockville District offices.
"I salute the…honorees and thank all of the student participants for sharing their boundless artistic vision," Raskin said.
