Cross Country - The cross country coaches would like to nominate Ella Moore ’24 for Panther of the Week. She is a dedicated member of the team. Ella is new to Holton this season and had to navigate a new team, new school, and new friends, all while managing the ever-changing Covid world in which we are living. She is eager to connect with her new teammates and coaches, asking questions and engaging in conversations with those around her. She takes practices seriously; during long campus runs, she isn’t afraid to run on her own but will also make an effort to spend some of her time running with her teammates. Ella has emerged this season as one of the most dependable and hardworking team members and is a true cornerstone of the team. Her hard work and perseverance during in-person and virtual practices earn her this very well-deserved POTW recognition.
Field Hockey - The field hockey coaches would like to nominate Ava Jane Josef ’23 for Panther of the Week. She always shows up to practice with a smile on her face and energy to match it. Each and every day, she gives it her all and encourages others to do the same. Her desire to improve is demonstrated through her willingness to ask and answer questions and take risks on the field. During each practice, she shows through example how much she appreciates the opportunity to be back on the field this spring. She is an emerging leader on the field hockey team and we can’t wait to watch her excel on the field this spring and in years to come.
Soccer - Soccer would like to nominate Emilia Cohen ’23 for Panther of the Week. Emilia came to us just last year as a rising sophomore and sadly, due to Covid, couldn't make her mark on the varsity program this past fall. She has wasted little time this spring setting a standard of both work ethic and attitude that has equally impressed her coaches and teammates. Due to her athleticism and size, Emilia can play multiple positions and is very receptive to feedback and getting pushed. We are so happy to have her as part of the soccer program—well done, Emilia!
Tennis - Kali Mathura ’23 has really impressed her coach this season. She has obviously dedicated herself to her improvement and has improved enormously. Kali is a formidable success story for Holton. She was cut as a freshman from the JV squad and has spent the last few Covid months working hard on her game. She is now one of the most disciplined and reliable players on the Holton squad with a perfect blend of competitiveness and sweetness. Kali is our choice for Panther of the week because she embodies the Holton motto, find a way or make one. She has found a way to thrive in the most challenging of times.
Volleyball - Volleyball's Panther of the Week is Callie Sava ’23. She is an awesome leader on the court. As a sophomore she has really stepped up and been an excellent example for the freshmen. She is assisting the coaches, helping new players learn as much as they can, and helping everyone have a good time as well. Congrats, Callie!
