Middle School Trip Combines Science and Sports
Holton Middle Schoolers got to experience both STEM and professional sports during the Washington Mystics' STEM & Basketball Day on April 27.
Organized by the WNBA team for middle and elementary school grade levels, the day helped students see how the principles of science, technology, engineering, and math power the Mystics on and off the court.
Through local vendors such as Mad Science DC, Holton students got hands-on experiences with science. These concepts were integrated throughout the game through an interactive guidebook. The Mystics showed off the power of women's sports to our students, beating the Minnesota Lynx 88-76 in the preseason game.
