Varsity Volleyball

OVERVIEW

This season was all about team spirit and the varsity team’s willingness to work together with loyalty and enthusiasm. It was all about sacrifices. Time spent in learning the details of the game which involves a lot of regimented footwork, fundamentals, and techniques necessary to improve everyone’s skill level and sharing those skills within the group. They learned to trust each other on both defense and offense, and showed character in times of defeat and triumph. This season we had many key players in the group, standouts include, defensive specialists Bella Motsco ‘21 and Katie Smith ‘19, to senior setter Sofia Soraci ‘18 and offensive specialist DJ Taylor’19 and senior middle hitters Takara McLaughlin ‘18 and Mia Gouffray ‘18.

This 2017 season we take pride in winning the ISL A Tournament Championship. After an early season 0-3 loss against NCS, it was extremely satisfying and was a testament to our growth to come back and o win 3-2 against them in the tournament. The final was a great match – coming from behind 2-0 to win three straight and the championship will be a memory that truly last a life time. Many thanks to our fan base and wonderful parents who came to share and witness this joyous moment.
