Coffeehouse
Coffeehouse - Showcase of Original Works
Coffeehouses originated in 1999 in preparation for the celebration of the School's Centennial. Members of the Fine & Performing Arts faculty encourage students to venture into a creative process that leads toward an original work. These works, sometimes still in progress, may be presented at the annual Coffeehouse - Showcase of Original Works. It is an evening with singer/songwriters, playwrights, poets, choreographers, composers, visual and performance artists. The Black Box Theater provides an intimate setting for this presentation, which encourages risk-taking, collaboration, and innovation. The Coffeehouse is a unique event where patrons enjoy latte, biscotti, and the newest creations of students, faculty, and staff. Here, every artist is welcomed and affirmed by an enthusiastic crowd.
