Senior Workshops Focus on Life Beyond Holton

Senior Workshops Focus on Life Beyond Holton
  • Upper School

As graduation approaches, members of Holton’s Class of 2026 are preparing for something beyond finals, prom, and commencement: life after Holton. .

Through a series of “Life Skills Workshops,” seniors are learning practical lessons about personal safety, reproductive health, and financial literacy as they prepare for the independence and responsibilities that come after high school. This spring’s sessions include conversations with Dr. Nichole Pardo, MD, FOCG and P’23, on women’s reproductive health; Nate Wilson, Holton’s Facilities Manager for Campus Safety, on personal and campus safety; and Traci Meakem Richmond ’88, JD, CDFA™, RICP®, Co-Founder & President of The Meakem Group, on financial literacy.

“We do an incredible job of equipping our students for life beyond Holton’s walls,” said Senior Class Dean Shay Squeglia. “Our seniors have worked long and hard to acquire skills and habits of mind that will help them succeed in college and beyond.”

“Presenters are clear that some of the more frightening ‘what-ifs’ are not only commonplace, but manageable with foresight, an understanding of available resources, and self-advocacy,” Squeglia explained. “Their familiarity with the Holton experience makes their advice both relevant and heartfelt.”

Whether discussing health, safety, or finances, each workshop reinforces the same lesson: trust your instincts, advocate for yourself, and protect your interests.

As the Class of 2026 prepares to walk through Holton’s Open Door one final time, these sessions are helping ensure they feel confident and prepared for what comes next.
