Scroll + Scrolling Named a 2026 Crown Award Finalist

Holton-Arms's Scroll + Scrolling has been named a 2026 Crown Award finalist in the High School Hybrid Literacy Magazine category by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA). The Crown Awards recognize the nation's top student publications for overall excellence in a head-to-head comparison by category.

This year, 526 publications were eligible for judging. Crown Award finalists are selected from CSPA member schools, with publications evaluated on design, photography, concept, coverage, and writing.

As a hybrid literacy magazine, Scroll + Scrolling serves as a platform for student creativity and expression. "It's a space where students explore big ideas and experiment with form and voice," said Melinda Salata, Upper School English Teacher and academic adviser to Scroll + Scrolling. "This recognition celebrates not just polished work, but the originality, thoughtfulness, and creative risk-taking behind it."

Scroll + Scrolling has won the Gold Crown for High School Hybrid Literary Magazines for the past 12 years. The Gold or Silver Crown winners will be announced by CSPA in the spring.
