Panther Pride: Hannah Wiseman ’26 Named SI’s Maryland Softball Player of the Year

Newly minted Holton alumna Hannah Wiseman ’26 has been named SI.com Maryland Softball Player of the Year for the 2026 season after earning 43.86% of the statewide fan vote. Hannah will be continuing her academic and athletic pursuits at Swarthmore College Fall 2026. Hannah capped off an exceptional senior campaign at Holton by leading the Panthers to the ISL semifinals while earning All-ISL AA Softball honors.

Hannah was one of the state's most dominant two-way players this spring. In the circle, she posted a 1.05 ERA with 152 strikeouts over 80 innings while holding opponents to a .168 batting average. At the plate, she hit an astounding .618 with a .717 on-base percentage, recording seven extra-base hits, 16 RBIs, and remarkably, did not strike out once all season.

"Hannah has been the definition of a leader and competitor throughout her time at Holton. Her work ethic, consistency, and commitment to her teammates set her apart, and this recognition is a fitting honor for everything she accomplished this season,” said Graham Westerberg, Holton’s Director of Athletics and Physical Education. “We couldn't be prouder of her and look forward to seeing all she'll achieve at Swarthmore."
