Lauren H. ’27 Named Gatorade Maryland Girls Soccer Player of the Year

Holton-Arms is proud to celebrate Lauren H. ’27, who has been named the 2025–26 Gatorade Maryland Girls Soccer Player of the Year—one of the highest honors in high school athletics.

The award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional achievement in competition while also excelling in academics and making meaningful contributions to their communities. Lauren was selected as Maryland’s top high school girls soccer player for her accomplishments on the field and the leadership, service, and scholarship she brings to every part of Holton life.

A standout midfielder and defender for the Panthers, Lauren helped lead Holton to a 10–4 season and an appearance in the Independent School League tournament semifinals. Beyond Holton competition, she represented the United States in the Four Nations Cup with the U.S. Soccer Under-17 Women’s National Team in the summer of 2025 and participated in a U18 National Team training camp earlier this year. She is also a three-time All-ISL First Team selection and a two-time All-Met honorable mention.

At Holton, Lauren’s impact extends well beyond athletics. She serves as president of her class and has maintained a weighted 4.05 GPA while balancing the demands of elite competition. She also gives her time to others through volunteer work with The Green Road at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, volunteering with Wreaths Across America at Arlington National Cemetery, and coaching youth soccer.

“Lauren is a remarkable athlete whose impact extends far beyond the soccer field,” said Graham Westerberg, Director of Athletics and Physical Education. “Being named the 2025–26 Gatorade Maryland Girls Soccer Player of the Year is an extraordinary accomplishment, but what makes Lauren truly special is the way she shows up in every part of school life. Whether competing in soccer, basketball, or track and field, she brings dedication, humility, and a spirit that elevates those around her. Combined with her achievements in the classroom and service to the community, Lauren reflects the excellence and character we strive to cultivate at Holton. We are incredibly proud of her and this well-deserved recognition.”

Lauren’s recognition as Gatorade Maryland Girls Soccer Player of the Year reflects the many ways Holton students pursue excellence—with perseverance, purpose, and a commitment to contributing to something larger than themselves. Her success on the field is matched by her commitment to scholarship, service, and leadership, qualities that reflect the courage and integrity at the heart of a Holton education.
