Head of School Penny B. Evins Shares Holton History with Class of 2033
A joyful duty of Holton's Head of School each year is teaching Holton's youngest students about the 122-year history of Holton-Arms. And Mrs. Evins, a former Lower School educator herself, did not disappoint! She led the squirmy class of 20 through a few stretches before they dug into a journey from S Street to River Road with detours to dwell on fun facts (Did you know Holton's first mascot was an Armadillo?!) and the contributions of the seven Heads of School before her.
The history lessons was followed by a short presentation from Director of Alumnae Giving and Engagement, Kate Healy Johnson '05, about ways students stay connected to Holton long after graduation through reunions, philanthropy, career networking, to name a few.
