Michaela Corcoran ‘20 and Madison Corcoran ‘20 are making history at the Paris 2024 Olympics as the first twin sisters to represent Ireland. They follow in the footsteps of their father, Mike Corcoran, a two-time Olympic competitor who represented Ireland in Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996.

Madison secured her spot in the K1 class last October, while Michaela qualified in the C1 category just weeks before the Games. Michaela is excited about competing alongside her sister, and emphasized the surreal nature of the experience.

As the girls prepare for competition from July 27 to August 5, 2024, the Corcoran sisters are set to inspire future generations of athletes, carrying forward their family legacy in the sport.

Michaela is competing in the Canoe Single Heats 1 and 2 on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. and 11 a.m. EST.

Madison will be competing in Women’s Kayak Cross Time Trials on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:40 a.m. EST.

Mr. Corcoran is “immensely proud of their achievements and looks forward to supporting them in Paris.”
