Upper School
Varsity Field Hockey
Record: 13-3
Led by Coach Hannah Leckey and senior captains Remy C., Francesca D., and Livie T., the varsity field hockey team had an outstanding 2025 season and earned the second seed in the Independent School League (ISL) tournament. The season featured many memorable moments, including come-from-behind victories against Whitman High School and National Cathedral School (NCS), a thrilling overtime win against Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School (Visitation), and strong performances throughout ISL play.
JV Field Hockey
Record: 7-3-2
Holton's JV field hockey team began the season with the goals of working hard, having fun, and developing good habits. The team had many dominant performances with multiple goal scorers. Even in challenging games, players rallied together to raise the level, always fighting to the end for a goal. Coaches were particularly impressed with the variety of leaders on this team, who were always eager to analyze the game and lift the team's spirits.
Varsity Soccer
Record: 10-4
Led by Coach Dook Kooistra and senior captains Eliza C., Charlotte F., and Anna R., the varsity soccer team had a strong season, with players embracing new roles, supporting one another, and consistently putting the team first. Their ability to stay composed in key moments and work together as a unit made this season a memorable one. This teamwork was evident in key moments, including a 4-3 comeback win over Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart and a thrilling 3-2 victory over Potomac School at the end of the season to secure the second seed in the ISL tournament.
JV Soccer
Record: 4-8
The JV soccer season was nothing short of inspiring. Throughout the season, players found joy in the process, in practice sessions filled with laughter and hard work, in games that tested their grit, and in working out the small details that changed the game. The unforgettable moment of the season was Blue/White Night and the thrilling 1-0 victory over St. Stephen's & St. Agnes. With the stands packed, the girls' determination and teamwork were on full display, and coming away with a hard-fought win on such a special night made it all the more memorable. Watching the team celebrate together with the entire school cheering showed just how powerful and uplifting our community can be.
Varsity Volleyball
Record: 14-4-1
The Holton-Arms Varsity Volleyball team wrapped up a remarkable season, defined by both triumphs and adversity. Led by Coach Abdelrazek and captains Lana C. ’26, Kamora M. ’26, and Caroline A. ’27, the team finished with an overall winning record of 14-4-1 and secured a spot in the ISL A tournament finals, showcasing their athletic prowess and determination. Finishing the 2025 season with a strong foundation of confidence, sisterhood, and commitment, the Holton volleyball program is poised to continue its success for years to come!
JV Volleyball
Record: 5-11
This volleyball season was tough but fun, and the growth achieved by every player was phenomenal. Coaches focused on mastering the fundamentals—from correctly executing rotations to understanding defensive and offensive positioning to serving, passing, and hitting. This team's work ethic was undeniable; they showed incredible resilience and determination in every close, hard-fought match.
Varsity Tennis
Record: 9-4
The 2025 Holton-Arms Varsity Tennis Team displayed both their talent and perseverance through the season. The singles players were consistently effective in their matches and helped establish the tone for the team's success. The doubles teams developed their chemistry, skills, and strategies in practices and improved significantly as the season went on. The alternates were called upon numerous times to admirably fill in the starting lineup and worked hard in practice to be ready to step up and contribute. While the season ended in a hard-fought loss in the ISL semifinals, the team can be proud of their effort and resiliency through the season and playoffs.
JV Tennis
Record: 10-1
Congratulations to the JV Tennis Team on a winning season all around! The team boosted an incredible record, dropping only a single match all season. As coaches, we enjoyed working with this squad. Each day, they came out to the courts with a positive, can-do attitude, working hard to improve their games. They each had their own individual personalities that contributed to fostering team camaraderie and made our job as coaches that much more enjoyable. Well done, JV tennis!
Varsity Cross Country
The 2025 Cross Country season was marked by tremendous growth and camaraderie. The runners embraced every training challenge, from grueling hill work and weekly strength sessions to long off-campus runs. Racing every weekend in September provided immediate feedback, and we quickly began seeing significant improvements in many 5K times. A highlight of the season was competing in our first home meet in years, launching a new home-and-away scrimmage tradition with Stone Ridge and Holton-Arms. By the time the championship races arrived, a high percentage of the team achieved personal and season best times—a testament to their tenacity and dedication.
Middle School
MS Field Hockey A
Record: 4-1-1
The Middle School A Field Hockey Team had an excellent season, demonstrating teamwork and a shared commitment to improving every time they stepped on the field. We practiced decision-making in small-sided situations with drills that helped the team learn how to create attacking opportunities and how to defend effectively. We also focused on advancing the ball through smart carries and quick passing combinations, particularly up the right side, where the team generated many of its scoring chances, including two 5-0 victories, a 4-0 win, and a 3-0 win.
MS Field Hockey B
Record: 0-4-2
This season, the Middle School B Field Hockey team focused on learning the game and developing the fundamentals, including basic skills of passing, receiving, and dribbling. We also focused on learning the rules and running through game situations. The coaching staff enjoyed watching the team apply what they learned in practice to the games and are particularly proud of their performance against difficult teams such as Stone Ridge and Sidwell. The team battled really hard in these games and were able to come away with ties.
Soccer A
Record: 4-3-2
The Middle School A Soccer Team had a great season with some wonderful wins and a few challenging opponents that pushed this team both mentally and physically. The coaches were impressed with the spirit, dedication, and hard work they showed throughout the season. The team's success stemmed from their ability to connect passes, stay dynamic in attack, and finish with confidence. Their composed build-ups led to several beautiful goals, showcasing their commitment and passion.
Soccer B
Record: 4-2-1
The Holton-Arms B Soccer Team had an outstanding season this fall. Given our large roster, the coaches often asked our Panthers to try new positions—sometimes ones they might not normally play. We were impressed with their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and adapt quickly. The players supported each other from start to finish. We had two impressive comebacks against very strong teams: our 3-3 tie against Bullis School and an incredible 4-3 win over Washington Episcopal School. All the players improved—whether in their confidence, skills, or both.
Soccer C
Record: 0-4
What a great season for the Middle School C Soccer Team. We are so proud of the growth every individual and the overall team showed. In practice, we worked on skills such as accurate, powerful passing, receiving the ball under pressure, and field positioning. Each player came to practice focused and determined each day, and we thank them for their hard work and dedication. It was a quick season, and everyone on the team should be proud of what they've accomplished, both individually and as a team.

Record: 5-3
The Middle School Volleyball A team had a great season! They learned new skills while strengthening current ones, and cheering each other on. Throughout the season, players were open to the idea of trying new positions, impressing their coaches with their willingness to step outside of their comfort zone and adapt quickly. The players stuck together from start to finish! They showed up each day excited to play, and the continued support and positivity from every player was critical. Each player improved, whether in their confidence, skills, or both.
Volleyball B
Record: 2-7
The B Volleyball Team completed a highly engaging and promising season marked by significant development and impressive resilience. Throughout practices and games, the players acquired a variety of technical skills and achieved a solid grasp of fundamental mechanics, particularly in passing and serving, while also demonstrating an understanding of the concept of the game. Their tenacity led to many of the matches being decided by tight two-point margins, perfectly exemplified in the Bullis game, where the team showed grit to win the match in three sets after dropping the initial, hard-fought first game, 29-31.
Volleyball C Blue
Record: 0-3
The players on the C-Blue Volleyball Team had a fantastic season. They worked to improve their passing, court positioning, serving, and communication, and they had a blast while doing it. The girls brought energy and joy to every practice, but they also found a new level of focus for each of the three games in which we competed. We witnessed some impressive improvements in our gameplay, particularly in communication and pursuit of the ball, and everyone felt the energy of our bench cheering on all our players.
Volleyball C White
Record: 1-2
The players on the C-White Volleyball Team had a wonderful and productive season, showing significant growth both individually and as a unit. They diligently worked to refine fundamental skills like passing, court positioning, serving, and communication. The girls brought infectious energy and joy to practice every day, and found a commendable level of focus during the three games in which we competed. We were thrilled to witness impressive serving streaks and felt the incredible energy of the bench cheering on every player.
Tennis A
Record: 5-3
The Middle School Tennis A team had an exciting and prosperous 2025 season. A focus for singles was in maintaining their consistency while increasing their use of topspin in groundstroke rallies and developing their serving forms to add more spin and consistent results. The doubles players focused on their court positioning during points to maintain aggressiveness while also being able to defend their court space, and worked on court communication to play more effectively with any partner.
Tennis B
Record: 4-2-1
MS Tennis B had a transformative season, finishing off our last match with an eight-court sweep. Many players were brand-new to tennis, yet the team steadily developed core skills, from scoring and serving to volleys and groundstrokes. By season's end, everyone was serving overhand, rallying confidently and our doubles teams showed strong communication and court awareness. In a moment that made their coach extra proud, a Holton parent shared that an opposing team's coach praised this team for their sportsmanship, noting how welcoming and encouraging our players were, helping her nervous athletes feel comfortable on the court.
MS Cross Country
The 2025 Middle School Cross Country season was a thrilling convergence of remarkable individual growth, the blossoming of deep friendships, and an incredible demonstration of indomitable team spirit. Our athletes embraced every facet of training with inspiring enthusiasm, from the demanding challenge of hill work, to the precision of daily drills, and those truly character-building long runs. The team's incredible tenacity and unwavering dedication was rewarded with the exhilarating capture of the coveted ISL Championship title! Following that stunning victory, the team secured a fiercely competitive 4th-place team finish at the MD State Championships!
