Holton-Arms School Celebrates the Class of 2025
A Day of Traditions and New Beginnings
The Holton-Arms community—students, families, faculty, and friends—came together to honor the Class of 2025, celebrating their accomplishments and the young women they've become along the way. Rich with tradition, the events of the day showcased Holton's mission, an education not only of the mind, but of the soul and spirit. As each of the 90 graduates stepped forward to accept their diplomas, they carried the confidence of those who have done hard things in the comfort of home. Now, they take that strength into the world—knowing the doors of Holton will always remain open.
Words of Wisdom from an Alumna leader
I thrived at Holton. I assumed leadership roles in the boarding community, flourished in the classroom, and made lifelong friends—friends who came from very different backgrounds from my own. …I know that we can count on you. Depend on what you learned at Holton, on the friendships you have made here, on your family, on deeply held values. I am confident that you will find a way or make one— for yourself and for the rest of the world.
Dr. R. Barbara "Bobby" Gitenstein ’66, esteemed educator and former college president, returned to campus as this year's Commencement speaker. Reflecting on her own time at Holton and her unwavering belief in Holton graduates.
Her message was both a charge and a comfort, reminding students to stay grounded in their purpose and trust the path they’ve paved.
The Class President's Farewell
There are only a few moments in your life where you will look out and see the most important people to you all in one space. Today is one of those rare days. Today marks the end, as it may be the last time we are all in one place together. However, today is also called Commencement because it signals the start of something new. Take this moment to reflect on your surroundings and appreciate these last four years. Recognize not what you are leaving behind, but instead, what you are taking with you.
Senior Class President Mira Wissman delivered a heartfelt address that captured the emotion of the day and the spirit of her classmates.
Leadership with Heart and Vision
As you become an alumna and step into new learning communities, don’t change who you are. Instead, expand your outlook by embracing new opportunities, perspectives, and experiences. Wearing new shoes doesn’t change your feet, your stride, or your unique gifts, but they can carry you to new places, open new doors, and offer moments of growth where fresh insights are gained."
Head of School Penny B. Evins also addressed the Class of 2025, reminding them of the strength within and around them. She also encouraged students to lead with curiosity and compassion, two qualities that have defined the Class of 2025.
Honoring Tradition, Embracing the Future
Following the ceremony, each graduate signed the Book of Graduates, a Holton tradition since 1933. With that signature, they joined more than 8,400 alumnae lighting the way forward, equipped, connected, and ready for what’s next.
