Summer College Essay Writing Workshops
We are excited to be offering essay writing workshops for rising seniors at the end of the summer. Students often say that applying to college adds the equivalent workload of having another class. Essays are the most time consuming part of the application process, so making significant headway before the start of the school year will prove invaluable! Though the workshops are not required, rising seniors are encouraged to sign up.
The workshops will run for three days and students may choose between two time slots. More information will be emailed out soon, but please save these dates: Thursday August 23, Friday August 24, and Tuesday August 28. Students may enroll in the 12:30-2:30 p.m. time slot or the 6 -8 p.m. time slot and are expected to attend at the same time each of the three days. Outside work will be assigned. These workshops are being run by Holton's college counselors and are free of charge.
Upcoming Standardized Test Dates
Spring testing is almost complete. It is not too soon, however, to think about fall testing for rising seniors: September for ACT or October for SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Please check the websites for further information.

- Test Date: Saturday, June 2
Registration deadline has passed. Standby testing may be available.
Holton is a test site for this date. Additional sites can be found in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Registration and information regarding future dates can be found on the SAT website.

- Test Date: Saturday, June 9
