The 14th Annual Holton
MOSAIC
A Celebration of Cultures From Around Our
World
Jan. 26th 2010, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
This event has been expanded to two evenings due to
its great popularity and to highlight our community’s commitment to preparing
themselves to participate in the Global conversation. Participation
during Mosaic, whether you are sharing your culture or knowledge or
experiencing Mosaic for the first time, nurtures global education for generations
to come. This wonderful community
building event is one you won’t want to miss!
Special Guest Speaker
Jan 28th 2010, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The Honorable James B.
Steinberg, Deputy Secretary of State gave the Inaugural Holton Mosaic
World Awareness Address from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in The Lewis
Theater. Mr. Steinberg shared his wisdom
from years of experience managing and studying U.S. foreign policy. Mr. Steinberg is an author and has previously
held positions as the dean of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the
University of Texas at Austin, Vice President of the Brookings Institution, and
deputy national security advisor to President Bill Clinton. This is a free event
for parents, students, alumnae, and faculty.
Celebration of Cultures
The Holton Arms Global Initiatives Program was
prominently featured at this year’s Mosaic. There was a chance to view slideshows of the first journeys to Senegal
and Costa Rica that have been described as transformational moments in the
students’ educational development.
The staff and faculty participated by offering
handcrafted ceramic bowls for $10.00 each to benefit an NGO in Senegal, Costa
Rica or India with which the Holton Global Initiative Program participants have
worked. Once again, the Culinary Club sold their
Mosaic Cookbook.
