The Lower School Library
The Lower School Library provides a wide range of library services to the students, faculty, staff, and parents of the Holton-Arms Lower School community.
The goal of the library program is to foster the development of lifelong readers and learners.
The Lower School Library is an inviting place with comfortable reading areas, teaching spaces, and wireless computer access. Library classes are held weekly for each grade level, and the library is open to students for book selection throughout the day.
The library's current collection consists of approximately 14,200 items that include books, periodicals, videos, CD's, and audiocassettes. Access to the library's subscription databases and the online catalog is available on the library's computers during the school day and on the library's website after hours.
A special Parent Collection provides materials of interest to parents.

The librarian encourages students to discover the pleasures of reading through booktalks and individual reader guidance. The library also sponsors programs that highlight reading including the annual Fall Book Fair and visits by authors, illustrators, and storytellers.
The library program stresses the sequential integration of research and information literacy skills into the Lower School curriculum. Working cooperatively, the librarian and grade level teachers develop coordinated curricular units and projects in which students learn and reinforce their research skills using print and online media.
