Holton-Arms Varsity Volleyball finished their season on October 30th. The team had four returning players this year and welcomed eight new members of the team. This group was excited for the season ahead of them, even with their young team roster.
After this season Holton will not graduate a player as there are no seniors on this year's team. Even though this year brought many new faces to the team and big shoes to fill from the previous season, Head Coach Francis Cornejo commented that "he could not have been happier with the improvement in the level of play he was seeing by the end of the season" and he "could not be prouder of the team's efforts." Cornejo would like to thank his team for a great season and he is excited for the team's continued growth next fall. "Holton has multiple players returning to the team and we should have another fun season."
In addition to Coach Cornejo's comments, co-captain, Anneliese King wanted to add her thoughts on the season: "I am so proud of the team this year. We began the season with eight brand new varsity members, and by the end of the season it was hard to tell the difference on the court from a returning player and a new one. Every girl has improved tremendously, bringing her own unique skill to the court which will only improve our team dynamic for a great comeback next season." In addition to King's comments, her fellow captain, Kayla Covington, shared her thoughts: "This year was a rebuilding season for Holton's volleyball team. We had a few setbacks and downfalls, but they only drove us to work harder and to break out of our comfort zones. Anneliese and I, as co-captains, are so proud of the tremendous progress we've made over the past couple of months. I'm so excited about next year already and I'm looking forward to see the team back in the gym in the fall."
Holton-Arms Varsity Volleyball is eager for the fall of 2015! Go Panthers!
