Artists in the News

Marissa Michaels '14 has won the First Place Certificate in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's (CSPA) Gold Circle Awards for her photography portfolio in Scroll/Scrolling 2014.
On Tuesday, September 9, celebrated pianist, Ann Schein Carlyss '57, performed the first and last movements of Chopin's Sonata in B Minor for Holton's Upper School in the James Whittier Lewis Theater.
Rhea Chung '12, winner of the National Symphony Orchestra Young Soloists' Competition, will make her solo debut with the National Symphony Orchestra.
Twelve ceramics students and one photography student from Holton-Arms have been recognized by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards regional competition.
Romance, trickery, disguises and schemes abound in this year's Upper School Winter play! Scapin is a classic trickster character from 16th century Commedia Dell'Arte theater of Italy, immortalized by Moliere's 1672 play, and adapted by Bill Irwin (Mr. Noodle!) and Mark O'Donnell.
In preparation for their Friday, February 7 concert, the Upper School Orchesis dancers have had the opportunity to work with guest choreographer Aysha Upchurch. Upchurch is an award-winning choreographer as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of Life, Rhythm, Move Project based in the DC area.
