Holton Drama Backstage Bash

Wednesday, September 6

6:30-7:30 p.m.

Followed by:

7:30-8:00 p.m. Info Session for Students and Parents

What is it?

The bash is a no-pressure opportunity to get to know other students who participate in drama at Holton as well as the Drama Faculty. The bash is commitment-free; just show up and meet people. (Students who come to the Backstage Bash are NOT committing themselves to audition or serve in tech roles.)

What do we do?

Hang out and talk. Eat pizza. Drink soda. Play games. Eat cookies.

Will I have to talk or perform?

We usually spend a few moments sitting in a circle and when we ask folks to share their name/grade and favorite ice cream flavor (or similar random fact.) Most of the time you'll talk to other students in small groups. It's a good way to meet students in other grades.

Where is it?

In the Scene Shop – walk down the hallway past the Chorus Room and the Dressing Rooms all the way to the end and up the steps. Or walk down the stairs in the Lewis Theater and onto the stage.

Who comes?

All Holton and Landon students in grades 9-12 are invited. Usually 20-30 students show up. A few Landon guys have been known to attend. The Drama Club leadership and Drama Department faculty will also be in attendance.

What if I've already participated in drama - do I need to come?

Yes. You have a job to welcome the newbies and answer their questions. You're the people they want to get to know!

Okay. I'm in. What do I do?

What if I'm super interested in drama but can't come?

It's a good idea to send me an email letting me know about your interest. I'll follow up the meeting with an e-mail to all students with the details you missed. If you write to me in advance I can follow up with you personally. You can also speak to Drama Club officers.

See you for pizza and fun after the second day of school at the Backstage Bash!
