College Preparatory School for Girls Grades 3-12

Varsity Field Hockey

OVERVIEW

This year, our team goal was to be competitive in our league. Evidence that we met this goal was seen in our decisive wins against Bullis, Sidwell, and National Cathedral, in addition to our advancing tournament round win against Flint Hill. Games we didn’t win but were hard fought with a one goal differential in games against Stone Ridge, Visitation, and Episcopal. This year we made an effort to take advantage converting corner opportunities into goals. Of the 28 goals we scored this year, nine of them came from corners. Another team goal was to strive in upholding the following values as our team norms--confidence, teamwork, competitiveness, taking criticism, time management, and dealing with setbacks. These are qualities that girls worked on developing and strengthening throughout the season and set the tone for every day we were together.

The team says goodbye to our seven magnificent seniors. These girls have given so much to the program throughout their time at Holton. Congratulations for another wonderful season!
